On Monday, 3 June 2024, FTI Touristik GmbH was the first company in the FTI GROUP to file for insolvency (to the press release). BigXtra Touristik GmbH and Flight Trading GmbH followed suit. FTI Voyages SAS declared in suspension of payments on 10 June 2024. On 24 June 2024, Meeting Point Hotelmanagement Holding GmbH and Meeting Point International GmbH filed for insolvency (to the press release). On 26 June 2024, the Swiss tour operators FTI Touristik AG and BigXtra Touristik AG filed an application to open insolvency proceedings.

All travel arrangements booked via FTI Touristik GmbH, 5vorFlug and BigXtra Touristik GmbH with a departure date up to and including Friday, 5 July 2024, were already cancelled (to the press release). From 6 July 2024, all package tours and certain individual services must unfortunately be cancelled (to the press release).

All trips booked via FTI Touristik AG and BigXtra Touristik AG must unfortunately be cancelled from 21 June 2024. Trips booked via FTI Voyages SAS can be cancelled free of charge up to 31 August 2024 at the customer's request.

General questions regarding insolvency

Following a hearing at the Strasbourg court of first instance on 17 June 2024, FTI GROUP's French subsidiary, FTI Voyages SAS, has been placed in receivership. As with the previous declaration of suspension of payments, this action is intended to protect the best interests of the French entity, its employees, customers and partners.

FTI Touristik GmbH, the parent company of the FTI GROUP, announced on 3 June 2024 that it was filing for insolvency in Germany. As FTI Touristik GmbH is our main supplier of tourist packages, major disruptions are to be expected for travellers who have purchased FTI Voyages packages from your agency. Any new information affecting your bookings will be communicated to you by the FTI Voyages teams.

As you probably know, FTI Touristik GmbH, the parent company of the FTI GROUP, filed for insolvency on Monday 3 June 2024 (you can read the press release for more details). We understand that you are concerned and have questions about your booking. To help you as much as possible in this situation, we have put together some important answers and explanations about the insolvency proceedings of FTI Touristik GmbH. 

The court-appointed representative is Mr Nicolas SAVARY, in Mulhouse. The court-appointed administrator is Christophe GILLME in ECKBOLSHEIM.

Following the opening of receivership proceedings against FTI Voyages SAS by judgment of the specialised commercial division of the Strasbourg Court of First Instance on 17 June 2024, the company's creditors are invited to declare their claims to the judicial representative:

Under this procedure, all the debts owed by the company are recorded as liabilities.

Whether you are a private individual or a professional, this procedure only applies to creditors who have themselves purchased a service from FTI Voyages SAS and who have not received the agreed service.

The statement of claim can only relate to services for the period prior to 16 June 2024, the date on which the insolvency proceedings were opened.

A distinction must be made between French creditors and foreign creditors when making this claim:

Please be careful: registering your claim as a liability in the proceedings does not prejudge its payment. It will only authorise you to take part in distributions, and payment will only be possible if funds permit.

Questions on booked travel services

Depending on departure date: between 4 June and 31 August 2024

For packages that your agency wishes to maintain, FTI Voyages will do its utmost to provide the services booked. However, due to the imminent closure of FTI Touristik GmbH's activities, major disruptions are to be expected for travellers who have purchased FTI Voyages packages through your agency.  

However, if you wish to cancel your booking for a departure between 04 June and 31 August 2024, we offer you the possibility of doing so free of charge. If you have already submitted a cancellation request for a departure after 31 July 2024, please renew your request using the online form:


Depending on departure date: from 1 September 2024

Our priority is to take care of customers who are already here and to manage imminent departures. The situation is currently too uncertain for us to provide you with any further information. Please be assured that we will keep you and your customers informed as soon as possible. We understand how important this situation is to you and your customers, and we are doing everything we can to support you through this difficult time.

If your departure date is after 31 August 2024, we thank you in advance for not contacting the various FTI Voyages services, and for waiting for our next communication

Major disruptions are expected for travellers who have purchased FTI Voyages packages from your agency. At present, it is impossible to anticipate this type of situation and we cannot guarantee that customers will not experience disruption during their journey. 

We therefore recommend that, if you wish, to cancel your booking free of charge for a departure between 04 June and 31 August 2024.

Questions on booked flight services

FTI Voyages will cancel these bookings free of charge for departures up to 31 August 2024.

Applications from agencies that have already paid for all or part of a package based on GDS or low-cost flights will not be cancelled.

PNRs issued for packages purchased by agencies that have paid a deposit or the full price (insofar as the travel agency has not asked for the file to be cancelled free of charge) will therefore be maintained; the agencies concerned will be contacted directly by the FTI teams.

It will not be possible to make partial payment for flights on a booking.

FTI Voyages will not take any steps to cancel tickets issued and paid for by FTI Voyages (unless requested to do so by the agencies concerned). However, FTI Voyages cannot guarantee that the PNRs transmitted will be maintained over time. This is primarily the responsibility of the airline concerned and/or any decisions taken by the court-appointed administrator, who will be appointed in the next few days.

This is only possible for agencies that have already paid in full or in part for a package based on GDS or low-cost flights and insofar as the tickets have already been paid for and issued by FTI.

The agencies concerned will be contacted directly by the FTI teams.

In view of the disruptions that are expected for travellers with FTI Voyages packages, and in accordance with the press release of 7 June 2024, you have the opportunity, if you wish, to cancel your booking for a departure between 4 June and 31 August 2024 free of charge.

Please be assured that we will keep you and your customers informed as soon as possible. We understand how important this situation is to you and your customers, and we are doing everything we can to support you through this difficult period. 

(Note: A package holiday is a combination of hotel accommodation and flight, with any additional services booked.)

We will do our utmost to enable you to complete your trip as planned. 

Despite our best efforts, you may have to organize the return of your customers yourself.

Our teams are unable to check whether hotels and/or ground services have been paid for.

You can contact the hotel or supplier directly to check whether the services are being maintained and under what conditions.

  1. For greater certainty, check the status of your flight and reservation with the airline concerned.
  2. Contact the hotel or supplier directly to check whether the services are being maintained and under what conditions.
  3. Contact the local agency directly to check whether transfers are being maintained and under what conditions.

The choice to travel is yours and your customers'.
We recommend that you cancel your bookings free of charge for all departures up to 31 August 2024.

FTI Voyages will also cancel, free of charge, bookings that cannot be honored on receipt of booking information from the rental companies/brokers.

If you have booked other services with FTI Voyages, such as excursions, tours, transfers, etc., please contact us.

Our teams are not able to check whether the various ground services have been paid for. If you decide to maintain the client's services, we invite you to contact the service provider directly to check whether the services are being maintained and under what conditions.

The choice to travel without information is yours and your customers'. You can cancel your bookings free of charge for all departures until 31 August 2024.

At this time, the file is confirmed and departures are possible, subject to further communication from FTI GROUP. However, major disruptions are to be expected for travellers who have purchased FTI Voyages packages from your agency. 

If you decide to maintain the customer's stay, please contact the company and the hotel directly to check the situation.


Pre-departure (service not confirmed by the hotel) 

We are aware of the planned disruption to FTI Voyages packages. If this has been confirmed to you, we are unfortunately unable to resolve this situation. If you wish, you can cancel your booking free of charge for a departure between 04 June and 31 August 2024.

When your customers are in destination

If our customers encounter problems in the destination, which can happen and which we cannot anticipate at the present time, we advise you to contact our in-destination representatives. 
Given the major disruptions to be expected, it may be difficult to reach them. In the event of additional costs being incurred by customers for the hotel and/or transfers, it is imperative to keep all traces of payment so that customers can start a procedure to claim reimbursement on their return.

No, we don't have the bank details of the hotels directly to help with this type of request.
