On Monday, 3 June 2024, FTI Touristik GmbH was the first company in the FTI GROUP to file for insolvency (to the press release). BigXtra Touristik GmbH and Flight Trading GmbH followed suit. FTI Voyages SAS declared in suspension of payments on 10 June 2024. On 24 June 2024, Meeting Point Hotelmanagement Holding GmbH and Meeting Point International GmbH filed for insolvency (to the press release). On 26 June 2024, the Swiss tour operators FTI Touristik AG and BigXtra Touristik AG filed an application to open insolvency proceedings.

All travel arrangements booked via FTI Touristik GmbH, 5vorFlug and BigXtra Touristik GmbH with a departure date up to and including Friday, 5 July 2024, were already cancelled (to the press release). From 6 July 2024, all package tours and certain individual services must unfortunately be cancelled (to the press release).

All trips booked via FTI Touristik AG and BigXtra Touristik AG must unfortunately be cancelled from 21 June 2024. Trips booked via FTI Voyages SAS can be cancelled free of charge up to 31 August 2024 at the customer's request.

General questions regarding insolvency

Following a hearing at the Strasbourg court of first instance on 17 June 2024, FTI GROUP's French subsidiary, FTI Voyages SAS, has been placed in receivership. As with the previous declaration of suspension of payments, this action is intended to protect the best interests of the French entity, its employees, customers and partners. FTI Touristik GmbH, the parent company of the FTI GROUP, announced on 3 June 2024 that it was filing for insolvency in Germany. As FTI Touristik GmbH is our main supplier of tourist packages, major disruptions are to be expected for travellers who have purchased FTI Voyages packages from your agency. Any new information affecting your bookings will be communicated to you by the FTI Voyages teams.

As you probably know, FTI Touristik GmbH, the parent company of the FTI GROUP, filed for insolvency on Monday 3 June 2024 (you can read the press release for more details). We understand that you are concerned and have questions about your booking. 

To help you as much as possible in this situation, we have put together some important answers and explanations about the insolvency proceedings of FTI Touristik GmbH. 

The court-appointed representative is Mr Nicolas SAVARY, in Mulhouse. The court-appointed administrator is Christophe GILLME in ECKBOLSHEIM.

Following the opening of receivership proceedings against FTI Voyages SAS by judgment of the specialised commercial division of the Strasbourg Court of First Instance on 17 June 2024, the company's creditors are invited to declare their claims to the judicial representative:

Under this procedure, all the debts owed by the company are recorded as liabilities.

Whether you are a private individual or a professional, this procedure only applies to creditors who have themselves purchased a service from FTI Voyages SAS and who have not received the agreed service.

The statement of claim can only relate to services for the period prior to 16 June 2024, the date on which the insolvency proceedings were opened.

A distinction must be made between French creditors and foreign creditors when making this claim:

Please be careful: registering your claim as a liability in the proceedings does not prejudge its payment. It will only authorise you to take part in distributions, and payment will only be possible if funds permit.

Questions on booked travel services

Depending on departure date: between 4 June and 31 August 2024

Trips that have not yet started will probably no longer be possible or only partially possible. For this reason, we are cancelling your bookings free of charge for departures up to and including 31 August 2024.

If you have a holiday planned during this period, you will be contacted very quickly by our reservation teams to open the file with the financial guarantees.

If you purchased your trip via FTI Voyages SAS or the VeePee website: please contact the Association Professionelle de Solidarité du Tourisme (APST) 

Major disruptions are expected for travellers with FTI Voyages packages. At this time, it is impossible to anticipate this type of situation and we cannot guarantee that customers will not experience disruptions during their trip. 

This is why we are cancelling your holidays free of charge for departures up to and including 31 August 2024.
