With the bookings of the trips offered in the programmes as well as large donations during and after the shows, the construction of five Fly & Help schools in developing countries could be financed this year. "We are delighted that so many sonnenklar.TV viewers and sponsors are supporting the foundation set up by Federal Cross of Merit recipient Reiner Meutsch to give children in socially disadvantaged regions access to education," says Melanie Benz, who is responsible for social projects at the TV station.
She adds: "When you consider that a school costs 50,000 euros, the charity show is a great success that pays off, especially for the smallest and weakest in the world."
At the end of January next year, Benz and Managing Director Kristijan Schellinger will be travelling to Namibia to inaugurate their own sonnenklar.TV school there. Leitner Reisen Managing Director Christopher Führer is also committed to Fly & Help and was able to open another educational centre in Cambodia with his company last October.
